Fusing
What This Means in Plain Terms
A hard high-temperature or fuser-control fault was detected. The machine will not continue until the condition is cleared safely.
This is a protective shutdown around the fusing system. End-user options are limited to cooling, checking power, and one clean restart.
Safe things you can try
- Turn the machine off and allow a full cool-down of at least 15 minutes.
- Confirm stable wall power and that all covers are closed.
- Turn the machine on once.
Do not do these
- Do not keep power-cycling a hot machine.
- Do not attempt service-mode fuser resets.
Never enter service mode or clear safety codes yourself. Those steps can damage the machine or leave a safety lock uncleared.
When to call for service
If SC544 persists or returns during warm-up, arrange on-site service.
