Ricoh SC452 Error Code
The motor that moves the paper transfer belt into contact position did not complete its motion. The machine stops rather than risking a paper path crash.
Paper Path
What This Means in Plain Terms
The motor that moves the paper transfer belt into contact position did not complete its motion. The machine stops rather than risking a paper path crash.
Power-line noise, a sticky transfer mechanism, or a mechanical fault can cause this. Ricoh documents a careful power-cycle sequence that sometimes clears a temporary fault.
Safe things you can try
- Turn the machine off with the main power switch on the side of the unit.
- Unplug the power cord and wait at least 45 seconds.
- Open the right-side duplex door and leave it open.
- Plug the cord back in and turn the machine on while that door is still open.
- After the machine finishes starting, close the right-side duplex door and try a short test print.
Do not do these
- Do not force doors or levers if they bind.
- Do not keep power-cycling repeatedly if the code returns immediately.
Never enter service mode or clear safety codes yourself. Those steps can damage the machine or leave a safety lock uncleared.
When to call for service
If SC452 returns after this sequence, the transfer belt contact motor or related hardware needs on-site repair.
