What This Means in Plain Terms

The optional Wi-Fi unit reported a fault. Wired printing may still work while wireless does not.

A loose wireless option, radio interference, or a failed Wi-Fi module can cause this. Confirm whether you actually need wireless before chasing it.

Safe things you can try

  1. Turn the machine off, wait 60 seconds, and turn it on.
  2. If the office can use Ethernet instead, connect a network cable and test a wired print.
  3. Move obvious interference sources such as cordless-phone bases away from the machine if wireless is required.

Do not do these

  • Do not open the Wi-Fi option cover or reseat boards unless a technician directs you.
  • Do not change wireless security settings randomly while diagnosing.

Never enter service mode or clear safety codes yourself. Those steps can damage the machine or leave a safety lock uncleared.

When to call for service

If wireless remains down after a restart and wired printing is not an acceptable workaround, schedule service for the Wi-Fi unit.
