What This Means in Plain Terms
The optional Wi-Fi unit reported a fault. Wired printing may still work while wireless does not.
A loose wireless option, radio interference, or a failed Wi-Fi module can cause this. Confirm whether you actually need wireless before chasing it.
Safe things you can try
- Turn the machine off, wait 60 seconds, and turn it on.
- If the office can use Ethernet instead, connect a network cable and test a wired print.
- Move obvious interference sources such as cordless-phone bases away from the machine if wireless is required.
Do not do these
- Do not open the Wi-Fi option cover or reseat boards unless a technician directs you.
- Do not change wireless security settings randomly while diagnosing.
Never enter service mode or clear safety codes yourself. Those steps can damage the machine or leave a safety lock uncleared.
When to call for service
If wireless remains down after a restart and wired printing is not an acceptable workaround, schedule service for the Wi-Fi unit.
